League recap: Harasewicz dominating on the mound for East Jordan

Lake Michigan league recap: 5/14/12

Jordan Harasewicz was the best pitcher in Lake Michigan this week. His stat line for the week included one win and nine Ks.

Charlevoix used a 3-3 record over the past week to move from 377 to 347 in the Michigan state rankings.

East Jordan's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and 14 walks to lead the league in both categories. The Red Devils have given up a mere 105 hits on the year in addition to compiling 125 strikeouts. Harasewicz is the leader in that category with 42 Ks on the season.

East Jordan, the league leader in stolen bases this season with 59, added to its lead in that category with 14 more steals over the past week. Given the green light by manager Al Stallard, Skylar Gibson has racked up 20 steals on his own this season for the Red Devils.



East Jordan's Austin Mellios threw six shutout innings in a 9-0 win over Harbor Springs on Wednesday. He struck out 10, allowing three hits.
