Baseball Game Preview: Niwot Cougars vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers

The Niwot Cougars will take on the Wheat Ridge Farmers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Saturday, Niwot came up short against Fort Morgan and fell 4-1. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly three runs.

Niwot saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arlo Richards, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Wheat Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 21-0 to Green Mountain.

Niwot has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Wheat Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.
