Liberty had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Garfield Bulldogs 6-4. The win was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on 12 straight.
Avery Huh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Isabella Rockey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jelly Davies, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garfield only posted a batting average of .259.
Liberty's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Garfield, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-7.
