Baseball Game Preview: Boardman Spartans vs. Proctor Raiders

For the second straight game, Boardman will face off against Proctor. The Spartans will square off against the Raiders at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Boardman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Boardman will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Proctor on Tuesday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Raiders.

Vince Butto was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Kirlik, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Boardman now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Proctor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
