Basketball Recap: Proviso West Comes Up Short

Proviso West lost against Hinsdale Central back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Proviso West Panthers took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hinsdale Central Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Red Devils are ranked fifth).

Proviso West has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Hinsdale Central, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-2.

Proviso West has already played their next game (against Marist), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hinsdale Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hillcrest at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
