Basketball Recap: Dominion Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Germantown Christian

Dominion Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 63-16 victory over the Germantown Christian Conquerors. With the Sabers ahead 32-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

When it comes to explaining why Germantown Christian lost, don't look at Grace Smith. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards. That was a full 62.5% of Germantown Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Germantown Christian dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Dominion Academy will take on Genoa Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Germantown Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Non Varsity Opponent at 6:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
