Basketball Recap: Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

It was a Battle of the Birds when Decatur Heritage Christian Academy faced off against Danville on Friday. The Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles came out on top against the Danville Hawks by a score of 58-45. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Hawks are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Danville still got an impressive performance from Ty Bailey, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Bailey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Donald Walker, who posted nine points.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-53 loss against West Point on the 28th. As for Danville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-59 defeat against Corner on the 28th.
