Softball Game Preview: Celina Bobcats vs. Panther Creek Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Celina Bobcats face off against Panther Creek Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Celina and Panther Creek will really light up the scoreboard.

Celina is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Gainesville on Tuesday as Celina made off with an 18-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Panther Creek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over Lake Dallas on Tuesday.

Madison Campbell was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Malvaiz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Panther Creek's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Celina, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.
