Basketball Recap: Pahokee Comes Up Short

After flying high against Glades Central last Monday, Pahokee came back down to earth. The Pahokee Blue Devils fell 41-30 to the Okeechobee Brahmans on Thursday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-25 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Pahokee still got an impressive performance from Sa?Nya Flowers, who posted 16 points. Flowers is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last nine games she's played.

Pahokee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Okeechobee, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pahokee has already played their next game (against Glades Day), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Okeechobee won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jensen Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
