Basketball Recap: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Takes a Loss

Orangeburg-Wilkinson suffered their closest defeat since January 18th on Friday. They fell just short of the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats by a score of 67-64. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Defeat or not, Orangeburg-Wilkinson got some senior leadership from Jordan McGahee and Kaleb Jamison. McGahee dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, while Jamison shot 55% from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. McGahee is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Hayward Jean was another key player, putting up ten points.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's record now sits at 0-2. As for Brookland-Cayce, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orangeburg-Wilkinson will venture away from home to challenge Dreher at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will head out to face off against River Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
