Basketball Game Preview: Trezevant Bears vs. Lausanne Collegiate Lynx

The Trezevant Bears will take on the Lausanne Collegiate Lynx at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Trezevant was beaten by Memphis East 79-46. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Mustangs are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, Lausanne Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 69-62 to Jefferson City.

Despite the defeat, Lausanne Collegiate saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zuri Mcclure went 8 for 13 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Marion Brewer was another key player, putting up six points and eight assists.

Trezevant's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lausanne Collegiate, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Trezevant suffered a grim 62-42 defeat to Lausanne Collegiate in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Trezevant avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
