Basketball Recap: Markell Fitzgerald's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Taylor over Giddings

After flying high against Caldwell last Monday, Taylor came back down to earth. The Ducks fell just short of the Giddings Buffaloes by a score of 44-42 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Ducks have suffered since December 12, 2024.

Several Ducks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Markell Fitzgerald, who posted nine points. Landon Coulter was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Taylor fell to 2-1. As for Giddings, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Taylor will be taking part in a tournament against Navarro at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Giddings, they will take on Manor New Tech in a tournament on Thursday. The Buffaloes will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
