Football Recap: Commerce Falls Despite Big Games from Demarco Huff and Jace Lyle + How To Watch

Commerce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Madison County Red Raiders. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Commerce's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jace Lyle, who gained 161 total yards and two touchdowns, and Demarco Huff, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Madison County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

After each having a week off, Commerce and Athens Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Madison County, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 44-7 loss against Jackson County on the 12th.
