League recap: Westmont stuns Silver Creek in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westmont, who took down 721st ranked Silver Creek, 39-0. Flint Trevor threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns and ran for three yards in the win.

Gunderson extended the longest winning streak in Santa Teresa this week by beating Mt. Pleasant, 41-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Grizzlies.

Marsland Sean was the best wideout in the league this week as the Warriors beat the Raiders. Sean tallied six receptions for 95 yards. Ly Tommy helped Westmont's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 83 yards.

Lavon Donald was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 211 yards on 23 carries as Leigh bested Silver Creek. Gabe Davis also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.

The Longhorns' Davis and Tommy Druhan have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Santa Teresa in both passing and receiving yards. Davis has thrown for 783 yards this season, while Druhan has 20 catches for 282 yards. Live Oak's Trevor Bearden leads the league in rushing yards with 1187.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gunderson takes on the Acorns. Steve Papin's team is in first place, while Live Oak is in third place.

Lincoln moved up to 431 from 477 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Mike Gemo's team 25-7.
