Softball Recap: Las Cruces Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Las Cruces can now relate to. They came up short against the La Cueva Bears on Saturday, falling 7-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldawgs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Zaysha Hawkins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Las Cruces has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. As for La Cueva, the win was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-3.

As of now, neither Las Cruces nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
