Preview: Walther Christian Academy Broncos vs. Elmwood Park Tigers
Walther Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Elmwood Park Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Walther Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Elmwood Park will be coming in after a loss.
On Monday, Walther Christian Academy's game was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 46-38 win over Ridgewood.
Walther Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Saniyya Harvey out in front who scored 22 points along with five steals. Harvey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Kilee Wilkins was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Elmwood Park came up short against Round Lake two weeks ago and fell 30-21. Elmwood Park has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Walther Christian Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Elmwood Park, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Walther Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-32 loss to Elmwood Park in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Walther Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
