Baseball Recap: Maricopa's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road matchup was the charm for Maricopa, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against the Pueblo Warriors by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Maricopa let David Olivas Lopez and Jovanny Sanchez run wild. Olivas Lopez went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Sanchez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Mason Kieber also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Maricopa's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9. As for Pueblo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Maricopa and Pueblo will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rams are set to challenge their familiar foe Canyon del Oro at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pueblo will take on rival Desert View at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
