Basketball Game Preview: Lake Region Thunder vs. All Saints' Academy Saints

Lake Region has gone a perfect 4-0 against All Saints' Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Thunder will be playing at home against the Saints at 8:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lake Region saw some tournament action on Saturday. They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 64-40 win.

Meanwhile, All Saints' Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Winter Haven Christian 71-36. Fans of the Saints have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Lake Region better focus on containing Josh Koch and Asher Cook as the pair were huge in All Saints' Academy's win. Koch posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards, while Cook shot 64% from the field en route to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Cook a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Gall, who put up six points along with five assists and five rebounds.

All Saints' Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

All Saints' Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lake Region, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Lake Region strolled past All Saints' Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-37. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
