Basketball Recap: Spencer Takes a Loss

Spencer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a blow against the Cherokee Washington Braves, falling 70-36. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Braves are ranked 30th).

Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Cherokee Washington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Spencer has already played their next matchup (against Sioux Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cherokee Washington will take on Newell-Fonda at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newell-Fonda knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Cherokee Washington likes a good challenge.
