Volleyball Recap: Jersi Olsen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sandhills Classical Christian over Christ the Cornerstone Academy

Sandhills Classical Christian was the 3-1 winner over Christ the Cornerstone Academy when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell just short of the Defenders by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Sandhills Classical Christian took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 12-25, 23-25, 25-13, 15-10.

Sandhills Classical Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jersi Olsen, who had 11 digs, ten kills, and one block. She is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Hudgins, who had six kills, four digs, three aces, and two blocks.

Sandhills Classical Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Sandhills Classical Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Father Capodanno at 4:00 p.m. on the 20th. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, they will challenge Antioch Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
