Basketball Game Preview: Euclid Panthers vs. Strongsville Mustangs

Euclid is 2-8 against Strongsville since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Euclid Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Strongsville Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Euclid took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-59 win over Orange. The Panthers pushed the score to 61-38 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Strongsville put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 80-50 victory over Lakewood. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Strongsville's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Euclid, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Euclid suffered a grim 83-60 defeat to Strongsville in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Euclid was down 45-23.
