Softball Recap: Marcellus Takes a Loss

Marcellus lost against Decatur back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marcellus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlotte Cropsey, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Kerrianne O'Donnell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Marcellus' loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Decatur, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

While Marcellus had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
