Baseball Recap: Valley Stream Central Starts off Right with Win over Sewanhaka

Valley Stream Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Sewanhaka Indians 13-2 on Friday. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Julian Vera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Vera was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Valley Stream Central got a massive performance out of Ariel Cabral, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaiya Vera, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Valley Stream Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sewanhaka: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
