Basketball Recap: Collierville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Collierville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past the Munford Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 57-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dragons also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2019.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Collierville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jekhyra Rodgers, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Rodgers is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season. Fran Kelly was another key player, putting up 19 points and five steals.

Collierville's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Munford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Collierville has already played their next contest, a 70-61 win against Houston on the 22nd. As for Munford, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Germantown at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
