Drequan Pritchett and Mike Chisem provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Hewitt-Trussville. The connection went for 51 yards, the longest such play in 6A Region 5 this season.
Hoover extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Vestavia Hills, 17-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Minor's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pritchett has thrown for 740 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Cartderius Woods has 13 catches for 262 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Hoover and Bessemer City. Josh Niblett's team enters the contest ranked first in the state, while the Tigers ranks 10th.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Buccaneers take on Bessemer City. Hoover has allowed 31 points this season, while the Tigers have given up 65. The Buccaneers allowed 7 points last week as they defeated the Rebels.
Bessemer City took down Woodlawn 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
