Volleyball Recap: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Lone Star Longhorns
Weldon Valley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Lone Star Longhorns. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-23.
Haylee Nelson paced Weldon Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Nelson got some help from Skylar Scott and her 17 assists. Scott was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Weldon Valley dropped their record down to 6-14 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Lone Star, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
