Softball Game Preview: Somerville Yeguas vs. Snook Bluejays

The Somerville Yeguas will square off against the Snook Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Somerville and four for Snook.

Somerville fell victim to Milano and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Emma Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Snook lost 12-2 to Mumford on Tuesday.

Snook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Becker, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Snook, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13-1.

Somerville took their win against Snook when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 12-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yeguas since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
