Baseball Recap: Needles' Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It was a good run, but Needles unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williams Vikings. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Hudson Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Rodriquez Tommy, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Needles' loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1. As for Williams, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Needles will face off against Laughlin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laughlin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.67 runs per game on average), something Needles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Williams, they will challenge Page at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
