Soccer Game Preview: Shelby vs. Pleasant

The Shelby Whippets will square off against the Pleasant Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Shelby fell victim to Lexington and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Minutemen, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Shelby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Lexington are ranked 126th).

Meanwhile, Pleasant also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 7-0 to Lakewood on Saturday.

Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Shelby, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-2.

Everything went Shelby's way against Pleasant in their previous meeting back in August of 2022, as Shelby made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Whippets repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
