Volleyball Recap: Rachel Mcclellan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glendale over Claysburg-Kimmel

Glendale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Glendale was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 29-27, 25-18.

Glendale's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel McClellan, who had 13 kills and 12 digs. With that strong performance, McClellan is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. Avery Crynock was another key player, getting 13 digs and seven kills.

Glendale now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8.

Glendale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Curwensville on the 18th. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Southern Huntingdon County on the 18th.
