The Northern Highlands Highlanders will square off against the Union City Soaring Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Northern Highlands' offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Friday, when they got past Pascack Valley's usually-dominant defense. Everything went Northern Highlands' way against Pascack Valley as Northern Highlands made off with a 31-6 win. Winning may never get old, but the Highlanders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Union City on the road against East Side on Saturday as the squad secured a 42-6 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Soaring Eagles.

Mark Boyd was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasiah Espinal, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown.

Union City's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Nah'Jeer Stokes and Ja'Zaire Aurelus. Union City got some further help from Reynaldo Mercedes: he made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).
