Softball Recap: Northwestern Falls to Miami in First Game of Season

Northwestern unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Miami Stingarees on Tuesday, falling 19-4. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwestern will square off against Hialeah-Miami Lakes at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Hialeah-Miami Lakes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Miami, they will challenge Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Miami knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Edison likes a good challenge.
