Volleyball Game Preview: Rock Canyon Jaguars vs. Chaparral Wolverines

The Rock Canyon Jaguars will head out on the road to take on the Chaparral Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Canyon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Chaparral will come in with three straight wins.

Rock Canyon came up short against Grandview on Monday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Chaparral posted their closest victory since March 27th on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past ThunderRidge 3-2.

Chaparral got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 30-32, 25-16, 15-11.

Rock Canyon better keep an eye on Ethan Southwell. He was instrumental in Chaparral's win, getting 13 digs and two assists. Those 13 digs gave Southwell a new career-high.

Rock Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Chaparral, they pushed their record up to 11-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Rock Canyon came up short against Chaparral in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
