Soccer Recap: Jacksonville Takes a Loss

Jacksonville fought the good fight in their overtime match against Lincoln on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Jacksonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Lincoln are ranked 49th).

Jacksonville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-1 record this season. As for Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 19-1-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Jacksonville and Lincoln will both be playing Westbrook Christian the next time they take the pitch. The Golden Eagles will head out to face the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Golden Bears will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
