Soccer Recap: Hayfield's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hayfield won the last time they faced Mount Vernon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks walked away with a 3-1 win over the Majors. Given Hayfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Mount Vernon are ranked 311th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Hayfield, bringing their record up to 6-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Mount Vernon, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
