Baseball Recap: Millard Comes Up Short

Millard extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 4-14. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Duchesne. If Millard was looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to Duchesne when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Duchesne, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-14. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

For Duchesne's part, Wyatt Christensen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. Christensen has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rylann Butler, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Betts, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Millard beat Duchesne by a score of 19-9 later that day.
