Baseball Recap: Weslaco Victorious

Weslaco was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the La Joya Coyotes. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rick Aguirre was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Weslaco's win bumped their record up to 12-10-1. As for La Joya, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 19-4 record.

Weslaco will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Coyotes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
