Basketball Recap: Parlier Takes a Loss

Parlier played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Chowchilla Tribe and fell 65-16. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tribe recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Zayne Smith was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 15 en route to 27 points along with five assists and five rebounds for Chowchilla. That's the most boards Smith has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daniel Ojeda, who posted ten points in addition to eight assists and seven rebounds.

Parlier's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Chowchilla, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11.

Parlier will head out to take on Minarets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parlier is facing Minarets at the right time seeing as Minarets is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Chowchilla, they will face off against Riverdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Chowchilla's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
