Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Constitution walked away with it. They breezed by the Lancaster Mennonite Blazers on the road to the tune of 69-38 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but Constitution sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Constitution's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Perry Fields, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Fields has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Amir Speights was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Constitution has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. As for Lancaster Mennonite, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.
Constitution will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Holy Cross' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. Lancaster Mennonite does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
