Soccer Game Preview: Kemp vs. Mabank

Kemp hasn't had much luck against Mabank recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will welcome the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Kemp's offense. They lost 4-0 to Caddo Mills on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Mabank also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Sunnyvale on Saturday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Mabank can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 435th, while Sunnyvale are ranked 153rd).

Kemp's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mabank, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Kemp suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Mabank when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
