Recap: Jackson County Blue Devils vs. Van Buren County Eagles
Even though the Jackson County Blue Devils have not done well against the Van Buren County Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Everything went Jackson County's way against Van Buren County as Jackson County made off with a 55-35 victory. Given Jackson County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Van Buren County is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson County was led to victory by Erin Davidson and Jalynn Meadows. Davidson scored 16 points, while Meadows scored 17 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Thomas, who scored 6 points.
Jackson County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Van Buren County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 24-10 record last season and are now at 1-4.
Jackson County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Gordonsville at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Van Buren County is on the road again on Monday and play against White County at 6:00 p.m. on December 4th. Averaging 68.8 so far this season, White County's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Van Buren County better be ready for a challenge.
