Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Jena's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Jena proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Oak Grove Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Giants have posted since March 1st.

Cayden Mursch was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jonas Jenkins, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Jena is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Oak Grove's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Jena will face off against Vidalia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
