Basketball Recap: LaCrosse Comes Up Short

LaCrosse has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 62-45 bruising from the Central Plains Oilers on Thursday. If the Leopards were looking for revenge after losing 50-20 to the Oilers when the teams met back in February of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, LaCrosse still got an impressive performance from Christian Rush, who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points. Rush's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lee Holopirek, who posted 12 points.

LaCrosse's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Central Plains, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

LaCrosse has already played their next game, a 45-37 defeat against Victoria on the 30th. As for Central Plains, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-47 loss against Little River on the 31st.
