Basketball Game Preview: Platte Valley Broncos vs. Wray Eagles

The Platte Valley Broncos will head out on the road to challenge the Wray Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Platte Valley is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Platte Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Liberty Common.

Platte Valley's loss came about despite a quality game from Regan Edstrom, who posted 11 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most steals Edstrom has posted since back in December of 2024. Rocco Minner was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Wray came up short against Wiggins on Thursday and fell 52-42. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 13-9 in the first quarter.

Wray's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Platte Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Platte Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Wray in their previous matchup back in January, winning 58-51. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Wray's Aaron Tena, who put up 18 points along with seven boards and three steals.
