Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Fernley

Fernley extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Sheldon Jacobson. Everything went the Fernley Vaqueros' way against the Lowry Buckaroos on Friday as the Fernley Vaqueros made off with a 64-44 victory thanks in part to Jacobson, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Dunagan-Stephens, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. What's more, he also racked up seven assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Fernley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Lowry, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Fernley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-39 win against Dayton on the 28th. As for Lowry, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-63 victory against Churchill County on the 28th.
