Baseball Recap: Middletown South Comes Up Short

Middletown South suffered their closest defeat since June 3, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Red Bank Catholic Caseys by a score of 8-6. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Caseys earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Brendan Sliva was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jack Buono also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Middletown South's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Red Bank Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown South will host Ocean Township on Saturday. As for Red Bank Catholic, they will be playing at home against Howell on Saturday.
