Softball Recap: Mitchell Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mitchell waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Watertown Arrows by a score of 7-4. This was payback for the Kernels, who suffered a 7-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rylee Jennings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Matteah Graves was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Mitchell now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Watertown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mitchell is set to take on their familiar foe Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Watertown will square off against rival Pierre T.F. Riggs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
