Baseball Recap: Priory Takes a Loss

Priory had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 7-8 to make it four. They fell just short of the Westmoor Rams by a score of 8-7. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Kai Park made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Priory is 4-1 when Park posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Kai Aalfs was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

As for Westmoor, the win got them back to even at 8-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

On Westmoor's side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Cote, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Cote has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was MJ Lim, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

While Priory had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
