Soccer Game Preview: Leonard vs. Wellington

The Leonard Lancers will challenge the Wellington Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Leonard's last nine contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Leonard is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Park Vista a 1-0 shutout. Leonard wouldn't have won without Oscar Zelaya, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wellington). They blew past Glades Central 8-0 on Friday. Wellington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Wellington now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for Leonard, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4-6.
