Softball Recap: Bagdad Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Bagdad, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by an 18-1 margin over the Antelope Rams on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sultans also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Tatum Jeans made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Jeans was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Anna Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Bria Moseley was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Bagdad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Antelope only posted an OBP of .375.

Bagdad now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Antelope, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bagdad is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on San Pasqual Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give San Pasqual Valley their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Antelope, they are taking a road trip to face off against St. John Paul II Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
